School Dinner Service

 

We continue to work with Twelve15 (formally Surrey Commercial Services) to ensure that the food is as appetising, nutritional and sustainable as possible.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our food provision is different from normal. The menu (September 2020 to March 2021) is available here.

In normal circumstances we aim for the following:

We use produce that is seasonal and local, including the a wide variety of fruit and vegetables grown by the children in the school grounds. In addition, we are consciously reducing our use of red meat, to reduce our carbon footprint and have introduced meat free days to show to the children that  food doesn’t have to include meat to be nutritious and delicious.

Our menu broadly follows the Gold Food for Life Menu and if your child has any particular dietary requirements, do let the school office know and we can ensure that there is a suitable alternative. If you have a ‘fussy’ eater school can offer a great opportunity to help your child, do come and talk to us about how we can tackle this together.

We would like as many children as possible to take part in school meals and to this end, we work hard to make the lunch time experience a really positive one.

The children are encouraged to drink all their water to ensure that they are hydrated and that this precious resource is not wasted.

From time to time we invite parents in to join their children for lunch, do watch out for communication about this from the school office. (Not during the pandemic)

The cost of a meal is £2.45 per day. Please ensure these are made prior to the term or half term start if paying in two installments.

For school trips that are not residential, packed lunches will be provided. A choice of filling will be offered in the trip letter.

Please note that all school meals must be paid in advance. If you would like to pay two weekly, please ensure payments are made in advance so that your account never falls into arrears.If your account falls into arrears you risk forfeiting this payment option.

Payment should be made on-line via www.scopay.com/ashley. Your unique code will have been sent home with your child.  This can also be obtained from the school office.

Once paid all money goes to Surrey County Council at the following address: Commercial Services, Surrey County Council, Epsom Local Office, Town Hall, The Parade, Epsom, KT18 5BY

Notice

If you would like to change from school meals to packed lunches, a half term notice must be given in writing either to parents@ashley.surrey.sch.uk or by filling in a red stop form at the school office. If you do not give written notice you will be liable for payments.
