The school day
We welcome children into school from 7.30am at our breakfast club. This is classed as childcare and we charge for attendance, which includes a freshly-cooked healthy breakfast.
The main gates open for a 'soft start' to the day for children at 8.40am. Gates close at 9.00am and all children should be in their classrooms at 9.00am. The morning register is taken promptly. Any children arriving after 9.00am enter via the main school office and their parent signs them in using our electronic system. This records the exact time and reason for being late.
Playtimes and lunchtimes are staggered to ensure that the maximum use is made of our wonderful grounds. Morning playtime is 15 minutes. Lunchtime is an hour for KS1/2 children and an hour and fifteen minutes for Reception. There are no scheduled afternoon playtimes, but teachers are able to take children outside as appropriate.
School finishes at 3.00pm for all children. When all children are in school (ie not during a pandemic lockdown), we ask parents with surnames starting A - O to arrive between 3.00 and 3.10pm, and those with surnames P - Z from 3.10 - 3.15pm.
Our after-school care accommodates children from the end of school and up until 6.00pm if required.
On the last day of each full term (see our term dates) we finish school for all children at 2.00pm. After-school care on those days is up to 5.00pm.
