Rabbit Class is taught by Mrs Goodfellow and is  supported by Mrs Nunn.

Spring Term

Click the link below to see an overview of this half terms learning on ‘Twisted Traditional Tales’.

Spring 1st 2012

We have been learning how to make a buzzer, a switch and a light bulb work in a circuit.

We had to make sure all the things were touching each other for it to work.

In Rabbit Class we made some boxes for our Design for Change project.  On Wednesdays we are going to use our boxes in the courtyard at lunchtimes.  “I liked the art the best” said Isla.

Autumn Term

We were very excited because two reindeers came to visit us at school.  We have wrote letters to Santa and we posted them in stockings so that the reindeer could give them to him.

We went to Zios to make Pizzas.  We learnt how to share our pizzas into halves and quarters.

We have been learning about transport – past, present and future this term.  We had some people come in and visit us with old vehicles.

Rabbit Class with an old Singer.

We compared these vehicles to ones we see today and noticed things like one of the cars had no seatbelts!

Otter Class in a car like Mr Gumpy's!

We brought our own bikes and scooters into school so that we could name all of the parts and talk about what bikes are like in the present.

We then went to Brooklands Museum and got to see what bikes were like in the past.  Here we are on a Penny Farthing.

We have also been learning about axles and wheels. We explored how to make our own and tested whether they worked.

Then we designed and built vehicles for the future.  We thought about how we might run these so that our planet is less polluted.

Parent Information

This half term we held a Maths Workshop for parents about the four operations.  Attached is the powerpoint with more information about this.
