Graffiti Art
Year 5 headed off to the Riverhouse Barn where they took part in a graffiti art session alongside a local graffiti artist. The children, yet again, rose to the challenge and produced some fabulous art work based on an Olympic theme. It was really exciting to be able to work alongside a professional and be creative and expressive in your own right.
Some of the work produced by the children was fabulous; the artist even let them add to, and colour in, some of his work. Below are some photos of the work that Year 5 have done. Other schools and members of the public will add to this work in preparation for an exhibition later in the month.
Natural Art Day
A small group of children from the juniors spent the day working with natural art. They took inspiration from Andy Goldsworthy, and focused on producing work where they developed pattern, colour and shape. After about an hour of foraging our school grounds, children worked in pairs to produce one piece of natural art. Following that, to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the group collaborated to produce one glorious piece.
Art Workshops in Kingfisher, Swan, Owl and Eagle Classes
Years 4, 5 and 6 have been involved in whole day workshops to create canvasses for display in the Junior Block. These have been developed to reflect the topics that each of the classes are studying this term. Below are photographs of the children at work during the designing and making processes.
