Prospectus

Welcome from the Headteacher

Dear Parents,

Ashley School is currently growing from a one-form entry intake of 30 pupils to a two-form entry of 60.  This year we have two forms of entry from Reception to Year 5, with approximate  NOR (numbers on roll) of 390. Next year we will add our final Reception Year intake of 60 so pushing us to full two-form status (approximate NOR 420).

Our aim at Ashley is to create a primary education that nurtures the whole child; mentally, physically and spiritually. We aim to provide a secure, happy and stimulating environment in which your child can learn, and we aim to provide activities, tasks and challenges that enable your child to become a confident, independent thinker and learner.

We have a strong sense of community at Ashley and we strive to push the boundaries in all that we do.  To this end, we have high expectations of every child, whether it be in extending the more able, training our athletes to perform to the best of their ability, or helping the children to explore a more reflective dimension to their life. Above all, we intend to give your child the skills and the enthusiasm to pursue a lifelong love of learning.

We also place sustainability at the heart of all that we do.  Last year we won the internationally acclaimed Ashden Award for Sustainable Energy in recognition of our outstanding work in energy conservation. This year we are the only primary school nationally to be participating in HRH Prince Charles’s Project Start with its focus on sustainable living.

We hope that by visiting Ashley you will begin to discover more about our happy, achieving Church School.

I look forward to meeting you.

Yours sincerely,

Richard Dunne

Headteacher
