In 2013, Year Six’s end of year production was ‘Oliver!’. Months of hard practice and rehearsals paid off in what was a fantastic performance. Year Six parents and family were treated with a wonderful evening performance. From classics like ‘Consider yourself’ and “You’ve got to pick a pocket’, the audience was entertained from start to finish. Everyone played there part with some fantastic performances; a special mention to our lead roles who worked so hard to learn their lines and sing some wonderful solos: Jonathan Maud as Oliver, Caitlin Dunne as the Artful Dodger, Lara Jenkins as Fagan and Ashleigh McKenna as Nancy. It was great to finish the evening with the audience singing along to one final round of ‘Consider Yourself’. Thank you Year Six for another fabulous performance.
For the Year Six’s end of year production, they treated the school and parents to a fantastic performance of Bugsy Malone. After weeks of practice, finally the chance came for the children to show off all the hard work – first to the school and then to their parents. The show was a huge success. Everyone played their part, with particularly strong performances from the lead role: Jack Lowe as Bugsy, Seraphina Roberts-Hunt as Blousey, Jessica Bernard as Tulula and Ben Bradley as Fat Sam. The children looked fantastic dressed in 1930′s clothes, showing off both strong singing and choreographed dancing. The highlight had to be the final scene, where authentic splurge guns were used. Thank you to all the parents who came – all looking terrific in their own 1930s attire. The final song sings ‘You’re going to be remembered for the things that you say and do’ and we certainly will not forget this year’s Year Sixes in a rush.
