Summer Fete 2011: Saturday 18th June 2011 12noon to 3pm “Taste of the Orient” update:
Coming together
Thank you the Summer fete really is all coming together and promises to be another great day! With your involvement the children have a great day. A few last reminders:
- Final donation- with so much going on and to remember, we have had requests for additional days for donations. The final collection day is on Wednesday after school by the wooden gates, bottles donations are quite low… and please don’t forget to hand in your raffle tickets – in half and half again. Or unsold books back into the FOA draw. Thanks!
- Class stall allocations thank you for volunteering to help on a stall – please know your time slot and do turn up on time, have fun and a giggle with fellow parents from your child’s class.
- Setup -If you can diary to help on Friday 17th June, 3pm onwards on the field, as little or as much time – it is really appreciated and the kids love having “freedom of the field” while we setup. There is a lot to do from putting up gazebos to hanging bunting with the infants handmade Chinese lanterns, so something for everyone.
- Gazebos – please if we have borrowed your gazebo in the past, please can we borrow again – please have your name on it – and give to one of the committee thanks! Or if you have and are willing to lend – again please speak to your class rep or one of the committee.
- On Fete Day – children’s clothes – wear their house colour as we plan to have 4 house coloured DRAGONS (Shannon – Green; Portland – Blue; Berkley – yellow and Fletcher – Red), all children dressed in their house colour can join the Dragon procession at start (12.15pm)
- Clear up- please everyone, even if you have not “signed up” to help clear up – at 3.00pm on Fete, as you leave please take a chair/ table through to the hall etc – everything on the field needs to be cleared away and if you can lend a hand for a bit longer it really makes a difference. At 3.05pm Kung Fu Panda (1) will be shown in one of the classrooms so the children can be entertained.
- Cover comp. entries with all the entries being so lovely this year you might like to take your child’s picture home. Please take it from the display board – NOT before 3pm on Fete day – if you leave earlier than 3 there will be chance to collect them on Monday.
- ps – you might like to invite your neighbour (especially if they have preschool children as many of the toys donated are for younger children) or your children’s grandparents to come and enjoy the day with you – when Otter class had their class assembly they gave us invitations which were very well received – so attached is an invitation you might like to use…there are a few copies in the FOA drawer also.
- pps – anyone have a gong we could borrow?
Thanks for the continued support for your school – come and enjoy a great family / community day out!
