Penguin Ice Sculpture

Many of you will hopefully have had a chance to see the Year 6 penguin ice sculpture out on the playground this week. The penguin was carved out of a big block of ice on Tuesday under the expert guidance of local artist Jo Thompson and it really does look magical, particularly when caught by the light of the sun. In the spare Year 5 classroom, the children had set up a gallery of cool canvas artwork developed around ice and Antarctica, along with acrostic poetry, symmetrical snowflakes and three dimensional shapes.
